Economists predict, that’s why they’re paid
That’s what makes them now afraid
How to predict what they don’t understand
Makes the profession profoundly bland.

Why should we consume always more?
Just so the stock market can find its floor?
Why should ‘consumption’ be the rock of ages
It never once produced history’s sages!

The Tea Party wants to cut and slash
Turning the party into a bash
For their interests are theirs alone
As only their friends do they phone

Party-ers, go figure the common weal
And then in Congress make a deal
Try to govern without an axe
And don’t be afraid of a little tax

Yes, the American experiment can fail
And leave the poor in its trail
The rich heralding themselves as winners
And the rest of the world as lazy sinners

Who wants their values, or their wealth
Often gained by lying stealth?
Who wants to sail an ocean of Self
As if life is kept afloat just by wealth?

Cause man wants to use the sea
As if to cut down yet another tree
Man wants all for his own end
As if his will can nature bend

Yet man is just a token reality
His short time on earth full of banality
The wave and the ocean shall prevail
For into eternity they are meant to sail

Man is just a passer-by
To hold a wave he can always try
But nature will defy him, in the end
The wave’s alwaysthere — an ocean to defend.
